The 15th Annual Jake Jackson Museum Hammer-In will feature great instructors, classes and demonstrations.

 

Mark Aspery will lead a CBA Instructor Training workshop on tongs on Thursday, March 1.

 

Lucian Avery (of Hardwick, Vermont) will demonstrate traditional Strap Hinges, Butterfly Hinges, and Slide Bolt Latches.

 

Bladesmithing demonstration by Dennis Tingle (from Jackson, California) and John Emmerling (Gearhart, Oregon).

 

A demonstration on all types of forged handles by Dennis Dusek and Josh Buhlert (of Placerville, California).

Saturday night. Donations graciously accepted to benefit the museum and the Weaverville: Thomson Blacksmith Education Fund.

 

Gear

Bring safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, coveralls, hand tools and forging stations for the workshops if you can. Prepare for weather that is unpredictable. Carry chains, and dress for cold /wet weather conditions if needed.

 

Directions

Weaverville is about 1 hour West of Redding on SR299 West. In bad weather with mountain snow, SR 36 and SR3 are not recommended. The museum is in the middle of town at 780 Main Street.
