TC Historical Society Monthly Programs
Our next program will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
The Four Pillars of Isabella Martin—the method to her madness.
Ron Giesecke breaks down the four main ways a human terror-factory managed to tax the very limits of jurisprudence, municipal funds and the ability for a local community to tolerate her insanity.
She was a combination of brilliant and incompetent. But she had her favorite tactics. Had she been more successful, she would be the most notorious female killer of all time.
Come see what she was up to over 120 years ago.
Ron Giesecke is a local entertainer, blogger, historian, podcaster and musician. In the last 25 years he has established a strong following for his one-man shows performing close up magic—both for private functions as well as the ticketed event. Those shows alone are embedded with history.
His recent election to the Board of the Shasta Historical Society adds yet another energetic chapter to the story that underscores everything he does— history.
Currently hosting a podcast called “Box Number Seven,” he is also writing a book about a notorious criminal hailing out of Trinity County—with some crossover moments in Shasta.Join us at 2:00 p.m. at the Congregational Church in downtown Weaverville for the potluck, with the program following at 3:00 p.m. We’re going to be back at our pre-Covid venue across from the Museum. All are welcome!

The June program is our annual picnic, held at a different site (to be announced) each year.
