Independence Day, 2025
Both the Paymaster Mine Stamp Mill and the blacksmith shop were up and running during the July 4, 2025 Independence Day festivities in historic downtown Weaverville. We had many visitors to the museum, the history park, and the wagon barn. It was great seeing all of you and we hope you’ll come back to see us soon.

TC Historical Society Monthly Programs
Our annual picnic and program will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Bar 717 Ranch in Hyampom.
Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch is the oldest accredited co-educational summer camp in California. Founded in 1930 by Grover and Erma Gates, over the past 95 years thousands of campers have spent their summers living, working, and playing as part of a ranch family in the mountains of Trinity County. Rooted in cooperation and tradition, this model continues to guide Camp Trinity’s programs and values. Still owned and operated by the Gates family, the ranch has become a living, breathing tradition that teaches independence, fosters belonging, and connects every camper to the beauty of the land and the people around them.
Our picnic will be held on the newly remodeled eating platform and will be led by Kent Collard, grandson of the camp’s founders.

Lectures
The Trinity County Historical Society invites speakers to present on various historical topics. Programs are held monthly from November through May at the First Baptist Church, 1261 Main Street, Weaverville. The June program is our annual picnic, held at a different site (to be announced) each year.

Trinity County Historical Society Monthly Meetings
The Historical Society meets once a month on the Wednesday before each scheduled monthly program. As a Board we are focused on taking care of the monthly business of the Jake Jackson Museum, and new members are always welcome.
