  • Volunteers Welcome

The Jake Jackson Museum is always on the lookout for volunteers.

If you like local history, like meeting new people, and like sharing your knowledge with others, we’d love to have you volunteer with us.

Our wonderful receptionists will be happy to talk with you about opportunities to share your time and talents.

  • Independence Day, 2025

Both the Paymaster Mine Stamp Mill and the blacksmith shop will be up and running during the July 4, 2025 Independence Day festivities in historic downtown Weaverville. Plan to stop by and see our steam-powered stamp mill and our local blacksmiths in action.

  • TC Historical Society Monthly Programs

Our annual picnic and program will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Bar 717 Ranch in Hyampom.

The ranch was founded in 1930 by Grover and Erma Gates, and is currently managed by their grandson Kent Collard as an accredited co-ed summer camp.
