TC Historical Society Monthly Programs
Our next program will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
The program is on New River field research that began in 1999. Gay Berrien will explain the years-long project, which covered mining sites around the Old Denny area, including Old Denny, Marysville, and White Rock as well as mines such as Mountain Boomer, Ridgeway, and Sherwood.
Over the years, thirteen separate week-long summer visits by 33 researchers located and researched 14 sites, wrote nine reports, and produced three books.
Join us at 2:00 p.m. at the Congregational Church in downtown Weaverville for the potluck, with the program following at 3:00 p.m. We’re going to be back at our pre-Covid venue across from the Museum. All are welcome!
Spring Spruce Up
The Spring Spruce up, where volunteers come together to help take care of our historical treasures.
Lectures
The Trinity County Historical Society invites speakers to present on various historical topics. Programs are held monthly from November through May at the First Baptist Church, 1261 Main Street, Weaverville. The June program is our annual picnic, held at a different site (to be announced) each year.
Trinity County Historical Society Monthly Meetings
The Historical Society meets once a month on the Wednesday before each scheduled monthly program. As a Board we are focused on taking care of the monthly business of the Jake Jackson Museum, and new members are always welcome.
